Beach Hockey

Many sports have their beach version, which gave the Dutchman Floris Jan Bovelander, former Dutch field hockey player, an idea. After volleyball, basketball, badminton, tennis, ... hockey now has it's own beach version. To create a spectacular beach version the ball was made bigger and lighter.

This allows the two teams of 5 players to easily play the ball through the air, which makes it very pleasant to watch a game. The great hockey show on the sand is packed with dribbels in the air, dives and sensational attacks. The small holes in the stick are another slight adjustment to the game to run smoothly flowing through the sand. With the warm weather and the difficult ground, the two halves of 12 minutes are certainly intense enough, the intensity is even higher than the hockey game on grass. You can certainly use the technique of the outdoor version in order to keep under control the ball on the difficult substrate. The fact that a field goal may undertake any place on the field, ensures that the games are packed with opportunities. Young and old, starter or experienced player the game has so much to offer that everyone will experience fun. Since 2004 Beach Hockey Netherlands promotes various events, but in Belgium beach hockey is also no longer unknown. But in Belgium, beach hockey no stranger, this year is going for the 3rd time a beach hockey tournament by Knokke. Definitely worth trying out even in the summer!
