Country honoured: Belgium

For several years now, Belgian hockey has been growing impressively, with almost 43% of members joining in the last five years. This is due to the international sports results achieved both by our young and senior national teams as well as the results achieved by the different clubs.

However the tradition of hockey was already well rooted in the country early last century. The Royal Belgian Association of Hockey is effectively one of the oldest sports federations of Belgium and Belgium is, in turn, one of the six European founding members of the International Hockey Federation (FIH). The participation, and above all the results, of the Lions and the Panthers at the last Olympic Games in London further increased the popularity of the sport, which continues to develop in all corners of the country. Hockey is also increasingly getting better with more modern infrastructure. And as for the Belgian supporters, they are almost unanimously considered as the best in the world!
